If this has already been reported, please ignore... The left margin of text appearing within the <NOTE>...<ENDNOTE> tags is indented after the first line. The heading NOTE: is flush left rather than a hung head. text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text NOTE: text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text Also, there needs to be a little more spacing around notes. Should I expect such notes in text (when drafted using O.R and viewed online) to resemble the output of SOFTWARE.REFERENCE as shown below? text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text NOTE: text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text (note ends here) text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text

It's not possible to extend the 'Note' text into the margin: there's not enough margin online. The current formatting represents an effort to resemble the hardcopy as much as possible. I'll put this on the list for investigating possible online formatting improvements. Thanks, Mary
128.2 | Misaligned paragraphs in notess | PEGGYO::FARINA | Mon Apr 09 1990 17:22 | 14
Using VAX DOCUMENT V1.2-B and BOOKREADER V2.0, we have noticed that in two paragraph notes, cautions, and warnings the first line of the second paragraph is indented one space. Only a <p> tag separates the paragraphs. This seems normal enough. Output looks like this: NOTE: Blah blah blah... blah. Blah blah blah... blah. I hope you get the idea. Is this a bug or a feature? ;-) Susan
128.3 | fixed in next release | RAGMOP::UTT | Mon Apr 09 1990 20:35 | 6
Probably a bug. We are looking into adopting the CUP_ONLINE doctype as *the* supported online doctype for manuals, and the next release of the online tools will support it. It does a much better job of formatting notes than either online.handbook or online.reference. Mary |
