110.0. "Trademark table" by DSSDEV::EPPES (I'm not making this up, you know) Tue Apr 04 1989 17:28

In the DECforms documentation, we use a <trademark_table> tag to call
in a trademark table that contains, among other things, the name of
our product (!). (I guess <trademark_table> is ZK-internal, and possibly
recognized only by the LPAHAND and LPAREF doctypes; I haven't tried it
with any other hardcopy doc types.) ONLINE.HANDBOOK (and presumably
    ONLINE.REFERENCE) doesn't recognize <trademark_table>; as a result, we
get the default (I guess) CUP trademark table, which doesn't list DECforms
or a host of other products. If we include the table explicitly in our
copyright page (either with <include> or by having the table itself in
the file), we get two trademark tables: the default one and ours. We need
a way to override the default trademark table in the ONLINE doctypes.

Well, the latest baselevel (April 19) seems to recognize the
<trademark_table> tag. Thanks. However, I still get two trademark
tables - the default, and the one I call in with <trademark_table>.
Since my trademark table contains all the trademarks in the default
table plus some additional ones, there's a lot of duplication.
I'd rather not have to recode my trademark table (which was created by
an editor, actually, and is used by other writing projects in addition
to mine). Could not <trademark_table> just *replace* the default table,
    as happens in LPAHAND?

P.S. What is this <set_trademark_table> tag that's mentioned in note 120?

    Nina-

I don't know what <set_trademark_table> is but, as I replied to note
    110, copyright pages need work...

    Thanks,

    We use it as follows:

    	<set_trademark_table>(v_decision_list)

to get the trademark table designed for VAX Decision Expert docs. My
system manager did something (?) to get this to work, following someone
else's (?) instructions. We had to comment out the <trademark_table>
    tag.

Sorry for the sketchy help -- hope it does some good. He may not
remember what he did, but my system manager is AITG::MCKENZIE. He's
away for a couple of weeks.

RE .2 and .3 - Thanks for the info. I'll just be (sort of) patient
and wait for Mary to work magic with the copyright page. :-)
Though May 31 - the date we have to submit our files to release
engineering for the July CDROM release - is creeping steadily closer.....

Sounds like a local-only tag? In any case, it's not supported for
    online.
