| The Bookreader supports 2 graphics formats: RAGS metafiles and FSE
bitmaps (FSE=Field Service Engineering). If the figures were drawn
with RAGS, you can simply reference the metafile in your
<figure_file>(bookreader\...) tag.
Very large figures in metafile format can be very slow to draw
on the screen. You can use MOPS to convert the metafiles to
FSE bitmap format.
The Bookreader does not support Postscript graphics at this time.
Thanks,
Mary

| Can you tell me the differences (if there are) between FSE bitmap
format and X bitmap format?
As I understood, my postscript figures (not done with RAGS) are
impossible to convert by any way to be treated the for the
Bookreader...

| Note 50 in this note conference, particularly replies .2 and .4
provide information about a somewhat circuitous but workable way
to convert PostScript graphics to FSE bitmaps.

94.4 | Figure File Formats Revisited | STAR::MCKENZIE | Go for the gusto or stay home. | Thu Nov 16 1989 07:55 | 8 |
| Hello,
Has there been any change in the formats of figure files that are supported
for on-line documentation ? Trial and failure has shown me that postscript
and DDIF don't work. I would have figured that DDIF would have been a good
candidate for implementation. Just asking ... :^)

| No, no change. At this time, the Bookreader can display RAGS metafiles
and FSE bitmaps. Yes, DDIF graphics are a good candidate and will be
supported in a future release of Bookreader.
