172.1VMS doc writers need system management examplesSUPER::MATTHEWSTue Feb 01 1994 10:5331
     A new manual, tentatively titled System Management Examples, is in the
works for the OpenVMS documentation set. The book is being created in
response to customer requests for examples to help them with common system
management tasks.

We are interested in examples you might have in the following areas:

o User account maintenance

o Management of queues, devices, and storage media

o Maintenance of disks and tapes

o Maintenance of terminals and printers

o Performance of system operations

o System monitoring and tuning

o Quota checking

o Management of clusters and networks

    If you have examples that you think might be useful for this project,
please contact either:

 Carolyn Crowell (JARETH::CROWELL)
 Mike Meagher (JARETH::MMEAGHER)

Thanks!

172.2Features II - extra chapt wanted54831::KLEINChris Klein DTN 856-7813 - It is I, Le-kleinWed Feb 23 1994 05:4514
    This is not really a reply to the base note, but a question for the
    'Features II' conference. However that conference is set nowrite
    (probably because the flood of new entries was filling up the disk),
    and this one is reply-only. I'm asking for 'documentation' however :

    I'm due to teach 'Features II' (A773) in a few weeks (again). I would
    like to replace a large portion of the 'Modular Procedures' stuff by an
    intro to the DECthreads package. Does anybody know of an introductory
    text (+ some program examples ...) I could use, instead of having to
    throw something together during off hours?

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris.
