| The condition attached to attending the TTT (see .0) was to undertake
the training of employees and customers in OpenVMS V6.1.
Notwithstanding the excellent documentation provided at this year's event,
there is no way that MCS/DC/LS specialists can take a whole 5 days away from
the front line. So, we in the UK (and I'm sure this is true in most other
countries) have had to select the main topics to present to these specialists
in seminars of just one or two days and give them pointers to further
information. We also think that a main function of these seminars is to pull
together relevant information from various sources (TTT Documentation, TTT
Handouts, New Features Manual, Release Notes, etc.) to save the specialists
time (which they can't spare) in learning the major changes in V6.1.
Here's where we are now ....
A colleague and I have just about finished preparing a two-day seminar for
OpenVMS specialists (CSC). We delivered the first one last week and are making
a few adjustments before the 2nd delivery on Wed/Thur this week. A further
three deliveries after this week are currently scheduled. By Monday 16th May,
I shall have finished a customer one-day version (I know this because I am
scheduled to teach it on Monday 16th May!). By the end of May, I shall have
finished a one-day version of the two-day seminar for other employees
(MCS/DC/LS).
We have produced these seminars using Microsoft PowerPoint and a Learning
Services slide master (template).
I realise that different countries probably place emphasis on different topics,
and what we've selected may not suit every one, but the materials will be
available (in .PPT and .PS form) to anyone who wants them.
Rather than post the file locations here, please request them by sending
me mail, so we can keep a log of interested parties.
I want to place on record my appreciation of the prompt responses to the
questions I have mailed to various TTT presenters. These have enabled me to
add details to, or dispel any confusion I had about, a number of topics.
