1. Page 1-6, If the prerequisites are in fact "NONE", then explaining
the octal UIC's will be quite a chalange! Some note on page 1-6a
about the transition from PDP/RSX on why we use octal UIC's may
help the new instructor.
2. The data on, and approach to, ACL's is about right for this course.

My views - not necessarily those of my colleagues.
Some of these comments I've made elsewhere - I think.
Page Comment
1-7a Third line of Table: tense changes - how about:
Display new messages that arrive while you are in MAIL?
1-9 Callout 3: specify the node is the user is on a remote
note
1-12 Callout 3: need a space between "node" and "names"
1-18a Table 1-5: bullet 2: typo dates -> date

USING THE VMS MAIL UTILITY
Page 1-7a: Some layerd products also sets the terminal environment for
nobroadcast. For example DEC 20/20, CDD.
Syntax error SET BROADCAST/NOMAIL must be SET BROADCAST=NOMAIL

Page 1-13: A picture explains more then 1000 words. If the picture is oke.
What about showing the old picture of the box

Page 1-21a: Command SHOW FORWARD/ALL is the wrong.
Correct command
SHOW FORWARD/ALL/USER= username * is allowed.
SYSNAM privileged is needed, because you read the
SYS$SYSTEM:VMSMAIL_PROFILE.DATA file.

| sysnet I-module 7:
General comment-I'd like us to teach this topic
like we do in UC I. Leave out the keypad and the
extra setup instructions. Take these kind of things,
put them into an appendix in text format, and give it as
a reading assignment. This way we have given the info
but not taken valuable classroom time teaching things
most people will not use or can learn better by reading
if they are interested.
Would cover READ/NEW here and REMOVE USERNAME in
the appendix.
