34.1Very good - 9.9 from Denmark.COPCLU::SVENDSENThu Jan 24 1991 08:3315
    Review Ra0294 Chaper 12: working with queues.

    Full marks. Very good and informative chapter, with really good
    instructor comments. I would feel confident in teaching this even with
    limited experience. Good structure, relevant examples. The only tiny
    remarks I could find is:

    It should be pointed out whether it is pointers to files that is
    queued, or it is the files themselves that is queued somewhere.

    Best

34.2UK - a BIG read, but goodUKEDU::SHONEKeith Shone @RKA 830-4074Mon Jan 28 1991 03:5933
    I found this a BIG read - plenty of information and, like Joss, good
    instructor guidance too.

    Some nits:

    Page 12-6	Figure 12-1: in the termainl session the text appears to be

    		$ PRINT /QUEUE=LPA0: -
    		_File: FILE.DAT

    for a continued command the prompt would be _$ surely?

    (I printed my review copy 2 up so the very small text is difficult to
    read).

    Page 12-10	bullet 7: "The PRINT places.." -> "The PRINT command
    places..."

    Page 12-35a	End of first paragraph the plural "criteria" should be the
    singular "criterion".

    Page 12-40	Last line: There is a stray ")" after LPA0

    "(none are automatically created)."

    None is short for "not on" so to make this read more smoothly how
    about: "(none is created automatically)." That way we don't split the
    infinitive either!
