484.0. "Capturing screens in PS format ?" by CURRNT::DAW (Pizzazz-man) Fri Sep 04 1992 14:52

	Hi All,

	Does anyone know how to capture screens in postscript format for
	inclusion in a document produced by vax document ?

	I don't wish to use CAPTURE to give a sixel file, then use SIXTOPS to
	convert the sixel file to PS, as the quality isn't high enough !

	I've tried using the print screen option on my workstation, which uses:
	'@vue$library:vue$printScreen' - but the PS output is too big. I've also
	tried using the print scren option, saving the output as DDIF, thenusing
	utox to convert the file to PS to no avail !

	Is anyone able to/does anyone currently do what I need, or could you
	suggest an alternative ?

	Regards,

	Rob

484.2DECwrite can do this well...HEWIE::RUSSELLHAL -> IBM; VMS -> Windows/NTSun Sep 06 1992 16:148
re .0;

If you don't *need* to use Document, DECwrite does this well (providing you
put it into a "floating frame".)

Otherwise you'll need to mess around with Rags (now, as .1 said, DOC/GRAPH)

Rob,
	Its been a while since I've been in here, but when you say that the PS
output produced by your workstataion is too big ,do you mean the print size.
If so tray editting the .PS produced, and changing the SCALE to 375 212 with an
editor.
