| SBPEXE will be upgraded to VMS V5.5-1 on Tuesday, June 16th.
The shadow system disk will be removed at 9:00 am on Tuesday,
and the upgrade performed on this copy disk.
The entire SBPEXE cluster and its workstations will be shut
down at 6:00 pm, and rebooted using the upgraded disk.
Any changes made to the system disk after 9:00 am will be lost.
This includes any SYSUAF or Batch/Print changes.
The cluster will be available for 9:00 am on Wednesday.
There will be a performance degradation during the day, due to
the missing shadow disk. This may be noticeable.
When the cluster is rebooted, SBPEXE will be a VAX 8700, connected
via the CI. This means that if SBPEXE dies, we will be able to replace
it with another system much more easily.
This upgrade is being performed to preapre for the the VAX 6000-610 and
Vaxstation 4000-VLC installations.
Please contact Peter Russell or Keith Davies if you have any
questions with the above.
