444.3 | LA75 or later manual show help, too. | HEWIE::RUSSELL | Hari Krishna, Hari Ramsden, Hari Hari | Mon Oct 28 1991 09:13 | 4 |
| Since most of these printers are pretty much compatible, the basic controls
should be the same, so an LA75, LA210, etc manual should cover most of this.

Oh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...they all cry, that crap system
manager is back...
This probably isn't the best place to ask this, but I assume with all
the massed knowledge at TPEC (you are still called that aren't ya? =;*) )
someone should have a workable answer.
I've got a VT fastened to a LA75 and a modem. I'm running a file
through Document using the REPORT doctype and sending the output to a
.TERM (terminal readable) file. Then using the Autoprint on the VT and
TYPEing the file out. The page lengths are all screwed up et al...
I had a quick delve in the Document conf and came up with a few ideas,
but nothing that really works! Any explanations/ideas gratefully
accepted (you never know, there might be a beer in it for ya next time
I'm down Fareham! Nah, on second thoughts... =;*) )!
Thanks in advance for any help.
Chris (King).

444.5 | Probably VMS terminal set up. | HEWIE::RUSSELL | Hari Krishna, Hari Ramsden, Hari Hari | Sun Dec 08 1991 19:26 | 13 |
| It's probably not Document; check the terminal characterics for VMS.
You need to have the FORM set charactly; by defualt a VT will be sent
6 line feeds whenever VMS sees a form feed character. You need to
ensure that VMS won't do that.... then make sure the LA has the
right form lenth set in SETUP, and that the paper is aligned properly.
An easy way to check is to create small text file with an editor, that
has a couple of lines, then a CONTROL-L combination, then come more
characters, When you type it, the CTRL-L will (should) do a page throw.

444.6 | It's definitely not DOCUMENT | CURRNT::ALFORD | An elephant is a mouse with an operating system | Mon Dec 09 1991 09:45 | 12 |

Not TPEC but...
- Have you done a SET TERM/FORM before typing the document. If you don't do
that, the form lengths will be haywire.
Always works OK for me.
- Check that your LA75 has the correct page length for the paper you are using
11" or 12" use setup on the printer (switch off, switch on while pressing
set-up button) to see what it's set up as.
