400.0. "LAT service changes IMPORTANT" by HEWIE::RUSSELL (Well, it was here a minute ago...) Tue Jan 29 1991 12:01

In preperation for an extended LAN service covering the SOuth UK
district (which inlcudes SBP and NEW), LAT service groups will be
changing.

SBP machines will now use Group 110.

All systems which offer a LAT service should change to 110 as soon
as possible.

Are you sure it's LTLOAD.COM ?

Changes in startup procedure:
-----------------------------

   * LAT$SYSTARTUP now in SYS$COMMON:[SYSMGR]

     SYS$STARTUP:LAT$STARTUP. Do not modify this file. It calls -
       SYS$STARTUP:LAT$CONFIG.COM to start up LAT site-independent commands
       SYS$MANAGER:LAT$SYSTARTUP.COM to start up LAT site-SPECIFIC commands

     LAT/Master V1.4 user:
       No change.

     LAT/Master V1.3 user:
       Move LAT$SYSTARTUP.COM from SYS$STARTUP to SYS$MANAGER.

     LAT/Master V1.2 user:
       Move all your LAT site-specific commands from your original
       SYS$STARTUP:LAT$STARTUP.COM to SYS$MANAGER:LAT$SYSTARTUP.COM. Use
       LAT$SYSTARTUP.TEMPLATE as a guide. Remember to change your
       SYSTARTUP_V5.COM to call $@SYS$STARTUP:LAT$STARTUP.COM (or
       $@SYS$MANAGER:LTLOAD) instead of $@SYS$STARTUP:LAT$CONFIG.COM.

     LAT/Master V1.1 user:
       Move all your LAT site-specific commands from your
       SYS$MANAGER:STARTLAT.COM to SYS$MANAGER:LAT$SYSTARTUP.COM. Use
       LAT$SYSTARTUP.TEMPLATE as a guide.

     LTDRIVER V5.4 or earlier user:
       Move all your LAT site-specific commands from your original LTLOAD.COM
       to SYS$MANAGER:LAT$SYSTARTUP.COM. Use LAT$SYSTARTUP.TEMPLATE as a guide.

Running EASE 5.3-2, none of those file seem to exist...
400.4old stuff...HEWIE::RUSSELLWell, it was here a minute ago...Fri Feb 01 1991 13:4314
Gee, aren't you running VMS V5.4-1A yet????

Seriously, wherever the LAT service is started (and it will be in
some *LAT*.com or *LT*.com file), add group 110 now, and then remove
the other groups after the E-LAN is confirmed as working OK.

If you are running EASE, have a look in the *START*.LOG file in
SYS$MANAGER or somewhere; it's a 500 or so block log of the system
startup - search it for LAT or LT, and work it back from there.

If you have problems, please come down and see us, or go along to
EIS OPS for help.

    Under EASE 5.3-2, it's sys$manager:Lat_start.com
    $       MC LATCP
    SET NODE/group=110
    CREATE SERVICE

    etc...
