Probably not the best place to ask this, but at the moment I can
think of no alternative ... and if I don't request it now, I'll
probably forget about it again...
Just tried to enter ALL-IN-1 on SHAPES and ALL-IN-1 dumped me out
saying that it was down for maintenance. Fine, but where was notice
given of this happening ? Also, it would be nice to see approximate
estimates of when the system is likely to be back up again on the
login banner.
This has happened several times now and I find it frustrating.

Seeing as there has been no response to this note I have to assume
that this is not the correct place to discuss ALL-IN-1 system
management issues. Could someone please inform me as to where I
should direct my requests ?

This conference is for ADG system management issues, and SHAPES isn't an ADG machine, so "we" have no direct control on it. Having said that, I.S. do usually follow this conference.... Next time, I'd recommend calling x4040 and asking them whats going on *at the time*, or failing that, contact one of the consultant's group and we'll take it up for you. Next time I'm downstairs (which should be later today), I'll "mention" this to them, and hopefully it won't happen again. It may well have been "unavoidable' for whatever reason, but I agree some notification would have helped... Peter. | |||||
