286.1 | Details due soon... | HEWIE::RUSSELL | One man's floor-another's ceiling. | Tue Oct 10 1989 12:10 | 13 |
| The final list is expected from Ferney Voltaire in the next few days, and
I'll publish it to my EASE distribution list as well as here.
Once we know the layered products to aim for, we'll start planning the
relevant upgrades for FUTURS.
ORFUL will go to EASE V5.2 sometime around mid-December, as soon as we
get the EASE X-kit from F-V.

Why?
The V5_MIGRATION/EASE conferences you refer to only deal with
problems/suggestions relating to the installation of EASE kits.
It does not permit discussions about EASE itself, nor the products
that are/should be supplied.
What is the forum for discussing the value of EASE itself, and the
products contained therein?

| I politely say again; this is NOT an EASE discussion conference.
To try and stop the rathole, EASE is a product developed and supported by
the Area Operations Consulting Group, based in Ferney Voltaire.
There is a European Migration Task Force (EMTF), which has reps from
Country Operations, EOQPG, End User Services, and European ADG.
They define the layered product list, based on inputs from relevant
parties. For Euro ADG at UCG, please channel those requests through me,
or one of the other consultants. We have had input, and changes have been
made to the layered product list as a result.
If you would like more details, please either come and see me
(I'm the "Mr. Migration" for Euro ADG in UCG), or Steve Draper,
or contact Chris Lovell @FYO or Jim Kirk @FYO.
If you would like to have an EASE discussion conference, please contact
either Chris or Jim and suggest it. You could of course, always start
your own.

| Peter,
Here's the Ease list for 5.2. I understand that you don't see this
as the appropriate forum but you *did* say in .1 that you'd post
it when you got it. Judging by the mailing list that came with it
it's been out for some time now ...

| re .4;
Jamie, the list you have posted is not the final list, and therefore is subject
to change, and indeed there are already some changes to it.
The list is NOT YET FINALISED.
When it is, it will be communicated via the appropriate channels. I've already
said that I will post the final list here when it is available.
In the meantime, the list is a reasonable guide, and it has already been
published to the relevant parties. I actually forwarded it the local EASE
list on 25th September.
However, don't start basing detailed plans of the list, for obvious
reasons. If you think you should be on the circulation list for
EASE documents, please contact me.
Peter.

286.6 | EASE V5.2 delayed to July/August... | HEWIE::RUSSELL | This is the dawning of the age of... | Thu Oct 26 1989 12:08 | 15 |
| I have just been informed that the EASE V5.2 migration is expected to
be delayed until July/August 1990.
This decision is due to be ratified at an EIS meeting in late
November.
I will publish more details as they become available.
If this decision will cause your project serious problems, please
mail me; I don't want to get into a discussion here about this
decision.
Peter.
