271.0. "Special Interest Groups" by CUCKOO::BRUNNOCK (Good drivers do it considerably...) Mon Aug 14 1989 18:10

Hi all,
	the consultants group have been asked to initiate and oversee the
setting up of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) for the Crescent. The tasks
assigned to the SIGs will be to assist their fellow employees with their
specialised knowledge by acting as a focal point for ad hoc, short term
questions and requests (i.e. the `how do I do this?' type questions).

	What we would like to know is what type of Special Interest Groups
that the Crescent requires? Do we need a group of specialists in ALL-IN-1?
In VMS? In ...? The best way to answer this is to ask the people themselves!!
So here is your chance. If you think a Special Interest Group is required for
a given topic, send me a mail at

	OBLONG::BRUNNOCKA
or	ANDY BRUNNOCK @UCG

and we'll sift through the responses and then ask for volunteers to man the
SIGs (NOTE: SIG activity will be part of the JP&R process and MIGS will be
amended to include SIG activity).

All replies by the end of August please.

cheers,

Andy
