247.0. "LVP16 plotter help ?" by CURRNT::DAW (VTX does it with pages !!) Mon Jun 05 1989 16:55

    Hi all,

the customer support team have wiped the dust from their LVP16 plotter,
and are considering plotting the monthly graphs using it.

What I'd like to know is:

    1. Can you connect the LVP16 directly to a terminal i.e. like an
    LA75 companion printer ?

    2. Can ReGis graphics files be sent to the plotter ?

    3. Does anyone have a manual for an LVP16 which I could borrow ?

    Can anyone help ?

    Regards,

    Rob

Rob,
Yes you *can* run an LVP16 from a terminal provided you've got a schmart
terminal and the correct leads to drive it. If you're thinking of running it
from a VT300/VT200/VT100 terminal then I would suggest it's not going to be
easy/possible.

VAXMATE - should be able to with right cables, but in PC mode, not
	in VT emulation.

Have you considered bunging it onto a GPX/Microvax that has a DHV11
on it. You could make one of the ports dedicated to the LVP16 and send all your
plots to a VMS queue name. I know this works because I've done it myself and
still have a procedure to set up the port.

I also have an LVP16 manual.
