Dear All, Just a reminder that CURRNT will be unavailable from Friday June 2nd at 17:30 until Monday 5th June 1989 for CURRNT's disk replacement programme (See note 190.14 in SYSTEM_MANAGEMENT notes file). The original note specified downtime from Saturday 6th but as there is so much to be done we will need to start on Friday evening. All RA81 data disks will be replaced by RA90's. You will see a improvement in disk space. The table below shows the current physical disks and the disks that the workload will be backed up to. There will be a number of things that will have changed after the workload moves: 1. The physical device names will have changed (See table below). 2. The Disk Label's will have changed (See table below). 3. Logicals names for the disks have changed (See table below). 4. There will no longer be bound volume sets on the cluster. Please ensure that you have not hard-coded physical device names in your command procedures or programs. 2. We will leave current logicals pointing to the relevant disks until Friday 9th June. Please ensure that you have modified your procedures or programs to reflect the new logicals eg: DISK$DATA1:, DISK$DATA2 etc. by that date. Below is a table showing the current logicals and their future equivalents. All logicals in the first column will be removed on Friday 9th June. Dear All, All the workload on CURRNT is now on RA82 & RA90's - you should notice a slight increase in free disk space! Please read 243.0 which gives more information on the changes we have made. There are a number of changes you will have to make yourselves: 1. Personal Batch jobs will have to be re-submitted. 2. We will leave old logicals pointing to the relevant disks until Friday 9th June. Please ensure that you have modified your procedures or programs to reflect the new logicals eg: DISK$DATA1:, DISK$DATA2: etc. by that date. Below is a table showing the current old logicals and their new equivalents. All logicals in the first column will be removed on Friday 9th June.
