| The layered products list for VMS v5 gives TDMS v1.8 as the supported
version. The version of TDMS on FUTURS is currently only 1.7.
There are no release notes for 1.8, is TDMS likely to be updated?

Chris,
You're right, FUTURS is currently running VAX TDMS v1.7 because
according to the VMS v5.0 Release Notes (page 1-7), TDMS 1.7 is
fully compatible on VMS v5.0.
If you have a particular requirement/need for TDMS v1.8 then we
can arrange to have it installed, given the usual management approval
from ADG.

If its a released and supported product, then surely justification
should be needed for NOT installing it!

| TDMS 1.8 is the required version for V5.0 EASE and will be installed on
FUTURS.
Note 213.1 gives the location of a document which lists all layered
products expected to be in V5 EASE.
If you spot any differences between the list and what's installed
please mail NECK::THOMPSON. If you need products to be installed
which are not on the list please contact a member of the Crescent
Consultants Group (4447), not 4040.

| Re: recommended Ease versions of layered products, is VTX V3.1 likely
to be installed on Futurs in the near future? It's currently running
VTXV3.0.
