197.0. "Farewell to Rainbows et al" by NECK::THOMPSON () Wed Nov 16 1988 12:09

The good news is ....
	On 26th November(ish) The Crescent will be blessed with the
delivery of 58 VT220 terminals. These are destined a)to replace the
Rainbows/Decmates/Professional 350's and VT100's that ADG have been
recycling for the last 10 years and b)provide terminals for new hires.

The bad news is...
	All Rainbows/Decmates/Pro350's and VT100's MUST be returned to
the CSM's *before* they're replaced by a VT220 (the terminals not the
CSM's that is). And this time it will be a one way trip out of the building
for all the old equipment.

	So....
	If you've got data on a Rainbow/Decmate/PRO350 disc you should be
	acting now to either save it to your VAX account or erase it.

197.2Mais ou sont la keyboard de la VT220 Monsieur?CURRNT::THOMPSONFri Jan 06 1989 12:1713
    Seems like a long time since I announced the immenent arrival of
    VT220's by the dozen but still the VT100's plod ever onwards.

    The good news is that the VT220 screens arrived in December.
    The bad news is that the keyboards didn't.

    Fear not however - rumour has it that the keyboards will be arriving
    if not this week then (almost) definitely next week. Let's just
    hope they're not built to the French keyboard standard.

    News of how/when and where to hand in your old plastic boxes will
    be forthcoming when tout les keyboards sont arrivs.
