190.4 | Flag pages | SHAPES::SYSTEM | | Wed Nov 16 1988 11:11 | 33 |
|
Some of you seem to be having problems with the number of flag pages
printed when printing from your allin1 accounts. To overcome this
problem simply follow the below listed instructions.
When you selecte the PRINT option, do a GOLD A to list the Print
Settings Menu.
Select CO for Change Control Settings. When you enter this menu
the Control Settings should be as follows:
Print time (optional:
Burst page (Y/N): N
Flag page (Y/N): N
Form feed (Y/N): N
Headers (Y/N): N
If they are different then change, by tabbing over each option and
entering N, press RETURN to exit back to Print Settings Menu and
save the print settings by entering SS (Save Print Settings), enter
0 at prompt and press RETURN. Then you can either P Print with
current settings or Exit Screen to go back to the orginal menu you
were in before selecting P for print.
If you have any problems then log a call with the Calldesk Ext 4040.

Apparently it is an "experiment".
By the way, when you connect to CRATE it does still say "FUTURS",
but this is just to confuse you.

190.17 | Backups to start earlier on CURRNT | NECK::THOMPSON | | Wed Aug 23 1989 13:11 | 18 |
| The CURRNT cluster shuts down at 19:00 on Tuesday's for weekly full backups but
since the introduction of 6xRA90 drives our TA79 tapes have been worked flat out
to try and finish data collection before 23:00.
The master plan for hardware for last financial year included the provision of
a TA90 tape drive which could backup all the disks on CURRNT and more in one
evening. Unfortunately, a few days before it was due to be shipped to us 'our'
tape drive was sold to ICI. So we'll have to wait a little longer while
a certain American Computer company manufactures another one for us.
In the meantime it will be necessary to shut down CURRNT a little earlier to
allow full backups to complete before the end of the evening operations shift.
I'm proposing a shutdown at 18:00.
Does anybody have any strong objections to this change? If so could they please
come and talk to me before Tuesday 29th August. If I receive no objections
then from 29th Aug (inclusive) CURRNT will shut down at 18:00 on Tuesdays.
