179.0. "A minor complaint" by INCH::WRIGHT (I AM a member of this company) Fri Sep 30 1988 18:21
Over the past few weeks the FUTURS cluster has slowly been
deteriorating in its standard of service. As we all know IS are
adding machines to clusters at present, but surely there is no need
for the original service to be destroyed. Maybe its done so that
when the new 11/785 is added we will all think that there has been
a tremendous improvement in service :-}
Could someone please explain why when CHEST crashes/is rebooted,
that CRATE virtually falls over as well?
I assume that OPS are very busy at the moment but could someone
put note here in this conference if it is foreseen that the service
on any machine is likely to cause problems, and if the problems are
unforeseeable that they put in an explanation of why machines keep
giving up.
