I am interested in producing a fully supported and widely usable tools 
library. Potentially this is a very large project and I would like as 
much input/feedback as possible in order to help assign priorities. The 
project could proceeed down a variety of avenues...

	a) Production of standalone tools such as a generic feeder 
	   program, a genralised project tracking tool, or utilities
	   using the SCAN language for example to remove DATA statements
	   from COBOL sources in order to use VAX SCA.

	b) Production of an object library of useful, frequently used
	   routines for such things as, currency conversion, date-time
	   conversion and validation, other common validation routines,
	   etc.

	c) Extension of the building block run-time libraries to make the 
	   routines callable from ALL languages and addition of new 
	   routines.

	d) Enhance the ADG application environment and provide more tools to
	   go with it.

	e) Upgrade some (or all) of the tools in the toolbox and make 
	   them more flexible and fully supported.

Please note that whatever is produced will be fully supported by the 
Text Retrieval Unit and will be fully documented. Also the TRU will 
advertise and promote the use of all tools added to the library.

In order to provide some initial input I would like to know what tools 
you most frequently use, what tools you have developed but aren't publicly 
available, what tools you would like to see enhanced or developed, 
i.e. a wishlist and any other suggestions (constructive ones only please) 
you might have regarding this project. Please address ALL replies through
