	Not quite right, you can use Decspell, and if you use the additional
functionality of wpsplus you can get access to a thesaurus aswell !

Other incentives are an online Time management system, and ...err..uhm..

Atleast we still have access to our usual accounts with VMS, so far.

And there is now an incentive to write /rewrite our applications with
ALL-IN-1 access so that our customers in the field can use their accounts for
more.

So lets not get too cynical before the system is fully operational, and maybe
then when we give suggestions to Systems Management they will comply and we
will get more functionality.

    Not exactly true on two counts:
    
    1.	There should be no problem in installing additional applications
        onto SHAPES once a need can be demonstrated (except games (!)
        and VAXPM which is probably better kept on the ADG clusters).
    
    2.	You are not limited to one LAT session - no need to log out!
    
�   I have solved that problem for the moment by auto-forwarding my
�   A-I-1 mail to CHEST, but that seems rather pointless.

    True - why clutter up ADG's precious disk space with your mail when
    the facility is already (and better) provided elsewhere. In case
    you didn't know, ALL-IN-1 mail is much better than VAXmail in its
    ability to handle:
    
    		folders (searching, cross-filing etc)
    		distribution lists
    		nicknames
    		attaching/detaching mail
    		deferred sending of mail
    		etc etc
    
    	and thats even if you *only* use the mail facility.

    Own menus? - don't know, probably not with this version of ALL-IN-1.
    VMS access (assume you mean DCL access)? - possibly if you can show
    a need for it, but as you already have an account/accounts on a
    development system, why would you need it?

    Don't know - I.S. Operations may be able to help, but I think they
    may want to establish what the demand level is likely to be first
    as we already have a number of people in here who are skilled in
    ALL-IN-1. (HINT: why not put a request in the SKILLS_EXHANGE notes

    You don't need to. You are being given access to ALL-IN-1 as part
    of Corporate policy.

    All secretaries have received ALL-IN-1 account request forms to
    distribute to members of their groups. If you haven't received one
    then see your secretary. If she hasn't got one, then see Carole

    Putting 100+ accounts onto ALL-IN-1 (note spelling!) is not something
    that can be done in 5 minutes. You will be notified when your account

    Ummm, what is the correct "process" for requesting "changes" to
    the ALL-IN-1 environment?
    
    Do we have "chauffeurs" appointed?
    
    Do we ring x 4040?

    It doesnt matter to me anyway, I have just been told that contractors
    will be the last to get ALL-IN-1 accounts

    Now that we have ALL-IN-1 accounts can we be allowed to use them fully?
    I ask because I have been told that the accounts are for mail only, so
    there will be no other priviledges given eg "set owner" so that members
    of a team can organise their diaries fully not just one day at a time.

    Will it be worth making any suggestions about enhancements/additions
    to the system, or is it unchangeable ?

    Can we have the functions that are there working properly or atleast
    reporting suitable errors MTS , TLX for example ?


    I am not trying to knock ALL-IN-1 just to use it properly.

    Taking the last point first; if any of the facilities provided within
    ALL-IN-1 are not working correctly then please report it as a problem
    through the call desk on X4040.
    
    If you have suggestions for increased functionality then please
    log a BRIEF description with the call desk as a proposed enhancement.
    We will contact you at a later date to discuss the details of your
    proposal.
    
    Because of limited staff resources we will not be making any major
    enhancements in the short term but will aim to incorporate improvements
    as we standardise the ALL-IN-1 systems across the Basingstoke
    locations.

    Its now been 2 months since 'everyone' was given an ALL-IN-1 account
    on SHAPES. When are contractors going to get theirs?
