155.0. "Misuse of Privileged Accounts" by ELBOW::DRAPER (Steve Draper) Tue Jul 12 1988 15:58

    It has been brought to my attention that there have been instances
    recently of owners of privileged accounts on ADG systems using their
    privileges to:
    
    	a)	Create accounts for other people
    
    	b)	Award privileges to other users
    

    Let me emphasise that these are both disciplinary offenses and
    potentially render the offender(s) liable to dismissal. They both
    represent a direct breach of Personnel Policies and Procedures and
    Corporate Security Standard 11.1, and therefore such activities
    must cease IMMEDIATELY.
    
    The correct way for people to acquire accounts and/or elevated
    privileges is to obtain an Account Request Form, fill it in and
    get it signed by an EMT member, and return it to I.S. Operations.
    
    Anybody who has difficulty in understanding or complying with this
    note should see either myself or any other EMT member as soon as
    possible.
