| Will Operations be taking over this Notes conference as moderators ?
Do Ops. know of the this conference ? Do they know how to use notes ?
Will they inform us about changes etc. BEFORE they are implemented!!
For the last week our group has had nothing but bovver as a result
of the change in system management, particularly when Jerry was out.
And what about the printers ?????? Could someone please explain
who is responsible for what with regard to the printers.
e.g. stopped queues, toner, paper, faults, etc...

| Will Operations be taking over this Notes conference as moderators?
No.
Do Ops. know of the this conference ?
Jerry will see that they do!
Do they know how to use notes ?
Who can say?
Will they inform us about changes etc. BEFORE they are implemented!!
Yes. Have you had any problems in this area?
For the last week our group has had nothing but bovver as a result

I'm afraid that there will have to be some sort of learning curve
for the Ops. The way we run our systems (or want to have them run
for us) is considerably different in some areas from the production
systems that the Ops are used to managing. Hopefully, with Jerry's
assistance, this learning curve will be fairly short. In the meantime,
if you experience any serious or urgent problems that you are unable
to resolve, please come and see me.

As I understand it:
stopped queues - Ops
toner - Ops (but Jerry will have to train them).
paper - Ops should see that we have sufficient supplies. You should
be capable of loading paper into the printers. This may change at
some time in the future (probably when we get the distributed LN03s
delivered).
faults - Ops
etc - well, what, exactly? If you mean clearing out of old printout
once a day, I have already asked that this should be done.

They do now.

Try this:
stopped queues - phone 4040
LPS40 toner - phone 4040 (I'm giving them a crash course)
LN03 toner - DIY
faults - phone 4040
All paper - Phone Facilities (Phil Coventry)
Paper clearout - Yes ADG have requested that it be done every day
but IS ops have not yet agreed to do it.
Our stock LN03 service kits will eventually run out but as I ordered
sufficient to cater for the arrival of 12 distributed LN03's on
01-May I guess that won't be for some time yet.

A problem with the LPS40 queue was reported to 4040 today. After half
an hour, we were told to report problem directly to Jerry Thompson.
Is the procedure to ring 4040 to find out who sho really be notified,
or has the procedure changed. If the latter, could we have an update
on what should be reported to who please.
