The following is the full text of the login message which appeared on
30th Novemebr on the ADG cluster....
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Please note that essential maintenance work needs to be carried out in the
following Computer Rooms:
DECPARK I DECPARK II
ACRE ROAD QUEENS HOUSE
In order for the essential work to be carried out, the power must be switched
off so there will be no computer systems available during the time the power
is off.
The work to QUEENS HOUSE will take 3 days. The proposed days for the work to be
carried out is 26TH TO 28TH DECEMBER. Service should be resumed on 29TH DECEMBER
During these 3 days, there will be no systems access to or from Queens House or
within Queens House itself.
The work to DECPARK I and DECPARK II and ACRE ROAD will take 1 day and the
proposed day is SATURDAY, 16TH JANUARY 1988. Service should be resumed by Monday
18th January. During Saturday, there will be a total loss of network
communications to, from and within the Reading area. The Queens House systems
will be running but you will be able to access them only if you are in Queens
House.
If anyone has urgent business concerns about the proposed dates will they please
contact INFORMATION SERVICES, EXTN. 6060 to register their concerns.

I am informed that on Sat 23rd January the power to Acre Road computer
room 1 will be switched off from 09:00 to 17:30. This is a change
to the scheduled power interruption mentioned in the previous note.

again to avoid a financial month end. Watch this space for the
rescheduled date.
