77.0. "Once there was a GPX ...." by RDGE00::GURRAN (Giving a support to Europe) Fri Oct 16 1987 17:09

Being one the the growing band of GPX trustees I was wondering whats to be
done about systems management for them. Is it every person for themselves
or are we going to organise it.
 I appreciate that this sudden influx of machines may be too much for Jerry
& Shaun too cope with at the moment but it would be nice for some kind of
coordination between the GPX users. Maybe a GPX notes conference - is there
one already I haven't checked. It would certainly help in writing our
evaluation reports.

    There will shortly be a new notes conference - RDGE00::GPX - which
    will cover topics related to Acre Road GPX II workstations.

    I'll be presenting a talk to GPX 'trustees' on VAX system management
    for workstations which will cover some basics and attempt to
    define standard procedures for Acre Roadies.

    This will be on 29th October in conf Room one 2:30-4:00pm.

	When I try to access this conference, I get "Insufficient
        Privileges or File Protection Violation error"

    	Does this mean I have been a naughty boy and lost the
    	priviliges I never knew I had....

    It works for me! Or at least, it does now.....thanx Jerry!
    RDGE00::GPX is open for business. If you're a stickler for
    keeping systems free of non-work related software, don't bother
    to read note #2.  8^)

    As there are now lots of GPX's and VS2000's kicking around in the
    Crescent I think it is worth mentioning that this conference still
    exists.

    It doesn't see a lot of activity at the moment, perhaps this reply
    might change that.

    The location has changed since the base note was written, it can
    now be found on:

    	FOOT::NOTES$LIBRARY:GPX.NOTE

    I guess you should also be able to use:

       	CURRNT::NOTES$LIBRARY:GPX.NOTE     etc...

    Keith.
