The LN03 printers have up until now been printing on ordinary
photocopying paper. This is fine as long as only 1000 pages are printed
each month. We seem to be getting through about 1000 pages every
couple of days and the mechanism inside is becoming damaged by the
coating present on ordinary paper
So, at vast expense and after much delay I can announce the imminent
arrival of...... DEC-brand laser printer paper which I am assured
will not oxidise the rubber rollers inside the LN03's.
When it arrives - hopefully sometime today - please avoid reloading
the LN03's with cheapo-brand paper.
The new paper will be kept in the cupboards just outside the door
of computer room 1.

And what, pray, is the difference between photocopying paper
and the DEC brand laser printer paper....
What coating? Plain paper copiers use just plain paper, and have
no coatings.
Is there one? Is there a difference?
Sounds like a good marketing ploy to rip off our custo....
er, sorry, ensure our customers get high quality supplies to match
the high quality hardware.

The percentage kaolin? - whatever the difference , the photocopying
paper makes a real mess of the inside of an LN03. Witness the LN03
which fell to bits in mid September.
