	This is basically what is planned to go on from now until Monday when
    the cluster will have been built!!!
    
    
    	At the moment the new common system disk is being built on the
    new VAX 11/785 we have, Node name RDGE43, with all the layered products
    being installed (see note 18.0).
    
    	Friday afternoon no machines will be available. All the disks
    will be fully backed up. Vulcan will be the first machine to be
    changed for support needs. ADGV02 will be available until Vulcan
    becomes the support machine. The machine will not be available for
    approximately 1 hour while the backup is done - during this time
    I am trying to arrange a guest account on a machine at Dec Park
    for set host facilities.
    
    	Everyone will have an account on the cluster. All personal
    directories and files will be moved to the appropriate disk so if
    people could tidy there directories and move everything to one machine
    this will be a great help. If you can not I plan to move the
    directories myself - I will call the directories moved something
    like NAME.RDGE00.
    
    	ADGV02 will be downgraded to Version 3.7. SMP and MEDROS will
    be located on this machine.
    
    	ADGV01 will have RDB Version 1.1 on it for about a month to allow
    for support of production projects (see .35).
    
    	All the CDD's will be fully backed up and sub-directories created
    where needed.
    
    	All version 3 projects on RDGE00 will be backed up BUT NOT restored
    onto the cluster.
    
    	Hopefully, by Monday, we will have some sort of system. It is
    planned that Monday be spent testing out the cluster and people
    checking to make sure everything that should be there is there!!
    
    	Every attempt is being made to predict any possible problems
    and sort them out BUT as is always the case things may possibly go
    wrong or go missing. All you have to do is let me know (nicely)
    and I will sort it out.
