3.0. "Help is getting cluttered" by RDGE28::KEW (vedi vedi vedi) Tue Apr 01 1986 11:58

    On the top level help 'menu' there are two entries -

    ERROR_LOGGER and

    error-logger

    is this necessary??

    Haven't checked yet, Jerry, but I think you'll find that they refer
    to two versions of the error logger. I suspect that the 'lower case'
    entry refers to the earlier version. Because the two help entries
    were entered in different cases, VMSINSTAL will treat them as different
    entities and will not 'replace' the older version with the newer
    one.

    Thanks Steve,

    While we're on the subject of help :- PTYCON ?!?!?!

    It looks like a wonderful idea, but -

    What is it??
3.3Encourage usage of this fileRDGE28::KEWvedi vedi vediTue Apr 08 1986 10:498
    I would have thought that it would be a good idea, if installers
    of new products on U28 were required to post a note here stating
    the functions and usefullness of the product. At least that way
    we all get to take advantage of any goodies, plus an instant forum
    gets established for people to comment on their experiences with
    the product.

3.4More clutter (?)CURRNT::CAITHNESSColin CAITHNESS, @UCG, 781-4335Thu Feb 09 1989 16:114
On the subject of cluttered help, why is all the STARS help text
defined in the top level help, and not structured in the usual format?

Colin.

    Dunno;

    Ask the development team - out in Colorado Springs, I believe.

    BTW, the new versions of STARS are not available to us, until PASTIT
    goes over to VMS 5.somethingoranother

    At least you get slightly different help on each option in STARS
