                           FROM ONE MAN TO ANOTHER

" 'This day' shall ne'r go by, from this day to the ending of the
                world, But we in it shall be remember'd;
               We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
                         shall be my brother."

                          -William Shakespeare

...Or through me. We tend to sell out so if you show up without
tickets, you might end up standing.

The Choice is coming along well. They are
teaching us chorus members to dance this year! I really would suggest
anyone who could make it to a performace to try. Its a powerful
presentation of the gospel message but in a fun format that isn't
intiminating to the unsaved. It is a really wonderful play and not at
all like your basic church presentation. Last year people suggested
that we take it to broadway. Our two leads are professional musicans,
it has props and special effects. It is a full musical. It is a
romance tied into the gospel message. The lead song is: "Could He be
the one?". There is a very powerful crucifixion scene. It is very
biblical, almost every line is directly from the Bible. It is an
outreach that we do. This is the fifth year. It is good for children
(older than about 6) and adults, saved and unsaved. Tickets to be used
for evanglism can be obtained at a lower price.

Our dress rehearsal on Friday March 21 is open to spanish speaking
people. They are hoping to provide head phones and a translation.
Our Spanish sister church is handling this.

Does anyone know what day the "Jesus March" is this year? Is anyone part of
organizing it anywhere here in New England?

Paul

I surely do. The March for Jesus is May 17th. I'm considering
going even though there are a couple of other things scheduled
for that day of a Christian nature.

Let me know if you would like to go with me/us. It's scheduled to
    start at 10:00 a.m. I think.

Rats. I can't be there. My sister is getting married that day in Maryland.

I can't quite figure this March for Jesus out. On the one hand, it is a BIG
thing - people participate all over the world. On the other hand, it seems
remarkably quiet for something so big. So many churches have never even
heard of it. I *almost* can't blame the media for never reporting that it
even exists.

This year, my husband bought t-shirts for everyone in

the caption, "In God we Trust". The front has a small

13.10Servant Evangelism Conference 5/30-31/1997WESERV::GUNNFri May 09 1997 19:10106

May 30-31, 1997

FROM THE SANCTUARY TO THE STREETS
Mark McCoy

Sponsored by Vineyard Metrowest

"Declare His Glory among the nations,
His wonders among all people." -- Psalm 96:10

In this historic season of God's visitation we are
once again hearing the call to 'go' and invite the
prodigals and the lost into the Fathers' house. An
explosion of evangelism is taking place as the
renewed church is thrust into the public declaration
of the Gospel through song, dance, the arts, and
service. Worship and evangelism are uniquely inter-
twined and we will witness the power of their comb-
ined effect.

Included in the weekend will be an outreach that
will include worship, servant evangelism, and dance.

About The Speaker
----------------------------

God called Mark into full time ministry in 1981 after a
miraculous deliverance from heroin addiction. God
pulled Mark away from the secular Rock 'n Roll scene
(playing with the "Sex Pistols") and used his talents in
traditional worship settings and new ones like the streets.

Mark McCoy is the Associate Pastor and worship leader
at Vineyard West in San Diego, CA. He is an international
worship leader, speaker and song writer for the Vineyard
Music Group. Some of Mark's songs include "Healing
Word", "I See the Lord", and "You Only". Mark will be a
featured worship leader on The Father's Heart #31.
Currently, Mark is involved with mobilizing the church to
celebrate God's presence in public places around the world.
He and his wife Doreen have a new son Connor.

====================================

Worship is for God's people regardless of
denomination, gender, race, or age. "From
the Sanctuary to the Street" conference will
model and instruct in expressive worship which
will lead God's people into a greater intimacy
with the Lord, and a greater sense of His
Presence being released through them.

Releasing God's manifest presence in public
places ensures that many who would not
normally visit our gathered meetings will be
exposed to Him, His presence and His love.

We have a desire to see God's lost children
being saved in a variety of situations as we go
out into public places in worship.

Jesus has called us to be "inviters" into the
Kingdom of God. In the atmosphere of worship
evangelism, this is possible.

"From the Sanctuary to the Streets" conference
will encourage and enable people to celebrate
the Lord, not just in the sanctuary but in the
world at large.
