| I saw a demo of FOCUS Reporter last week.
It was powerful.
I loved it.
I want it.
It certainly works under Windows.
The ease of use was great. Functionality was the same. It seemed
appropriate to use as a front end for FOCUS novices, yet allowed flexibility
for seasoned users. The code the utility creates are FOCUS fexes- easy to
read and editable. (Unlike the other windows applications that generate
sql and do it in a black box, FOCUS gives you editable code you can
execute or tweek)
FOCUS product soon to be on the market will connect the PC version with
the VAX based version allowing the processing to occur totally on the vax
with results coming to the PC. The report design, graphic displays, ease of
converting from one type of display to another was delightful and seemed
easier than some of the other products, but not miles ahead- just good and
more than adequate. ( I have found the create-a-report on change the
graph from a pie to bar to... products fine on the PC, but the methods used
to get the data to the report cumbersome)
I hope to have an evaluation copy soon.
