551.0. "FOCUS + C language ?" by GBI01::MARTINI (Marco Martini - Swas La Spezia Genoa - Italy) Wed May 26 1993 12:24
Hi,
I'm involved into a project with a customer who wants to use Focus and needs
to link it to exeternal 3gl routines. The 3gl language should be C language.
I've read in Focus documentation that C subroutines linked to Focus must not
include any calls to the C runtime library and this point is really
disappointing since C language without calls to its runtime library is very
poor.
Does anybody explain the reason of this limitation ?
Any work-around ?
May I overcome the problem first linking my C routines to vaxcrtl in order to
get a shareble image and then linking Focus to this shareble image ?
Since I don't know Focus I wonder if it manages 'structure' as a data type
(I could not see a syntax for it in the documentation I have), if it could
declare 'structure' I would like to pass as parameters to C subroutines
instead of passing a long series of elementary data (max. 28).
Thanks in advance for your help
