545.0. "Print orientation selection" by BACHUS::WAUTERS (Only stupid people think they know enough) Fri Feb 26 1993 10:46

    Hi Dear All,

Facing FOCUS for the very first time of my life, I have an ( easy ? )
question concerning the printing of reports.

We've sold to a customer an application using FOCUS to generate
reports. This is just to say that we do not perform FOCUS
programmation, hence our lack of knowledge.

Here is the question : the reports are sent to a landscape queue
because this is most of the time what the user needs. Now, some reports
should be printed in "portrait". Is there a FOCUS command to allow this
    ?

I've had a quick look in the FOCUS orientation and have not seen
    anything related to that.

Can a FOCUS guru help me ?

    Thanks and regards.

There is a Focus command ->
    SET WIDTH=80

and print the report on the right queue.

Thanks for your answer, but it is not the width that has to been
changed, but the page orientation ( landscape <-> portrait ).

    Any clue ?

    Hi,

FOCUS will not create output in any particular orientation that I am
aware of. You'll need to figure out the escape sequences to send
to the printer if you don't have an ORIENTATION switch you can use
on your print command. Or if you have 2 different queues just set
one up to print LANDSCAPE and the other to print PORTRAIT. This change
    is hardware not software controlled.
