When using Focus to access a remote RDB database, does it use the local version of RDB to make the remote RDB calls? Thanks, John

The FOCUS-RdB Interface uses The DSRI (Digital Standard Relational Interface) Callable Interface. At the FOCUS level, remote database access is completly transparent : e.g. the only difference is the database name which specify a remote address (In the Filedef). Processing and routage of the call is then handle by the local implementation of the RDBSHR sharable image. |
