465.0. "default OUTPUT to FOC$DIR1 in V6.1 ?" by MILPND::DANDREA (Medusa) Wed Oct 09 1991 10:26
Please help??? I've come across a strange problem, which I believe
must be associated with V.6.1 because it never occurred before.
When running a FEX interactively from SYS$LOGIN the output is sent
directly to FOC$DIR1 (a different subdirectory) and creates a new
version of the DATABASE.RDB filename! It should output to
SYS$LOGIN:OHNPL.DOC (as specified below with the ON TABLE HOLD AS
command).
Does anyone know WHY this might be happening? Is there another logi-
cal that points to FOC$DIR1 by default that I have to reassign in
V.6.1 ?
Thanks -- Nancy (FEX is below)

465.1 | FOCEXTRACT parameter, FILEDEF ? | EVTDD1::CARRIERE | Jean-Claude Carriere | Thu Oct 10 1991 05:18 | 19 |

Hello Nancy,
Stange problem indeed, here are two things to check that may help
you find a rational explanation :
1) Extract files are saved depending on the FOCEXTRACT parameter
either to the DEFAULT directory or the TEMPDIR directory.
? PATH and SET will let you know which one is which.
2) However this would not explain why you get a DATABASE.RDB. The
only two things that I can see :
- check if you have a FILEDEF for OHNPL that might point to
an RDB file
- check if you have a logical name defined for OHNPL.
Hope this will be helpfull

BINGO!!!
There is a FILEDEF that points to OHNPL. That most certainly
is the cause.
Thank you so very much Jean-Claude!
