I am interested in finding out which organizations are using FOCUS today... I am also interested in finding out whether they have plans to continue using it, or migrating to another tool, and why... Thanks... Karen Young VSS Info Mgmt

I am in the organization called USDS(U.S. Demand/Supply). We have an RMS database and I write all the reports for the group using Focus. Our current plans is to stay with Focus and to futher develope and database so the users can do some ad-hoc reporting using Focus. Since the users in USDS are business types and Focus providing a menu mode the two go together well.

Working for Finance End User Computing. We use FOCUS against Rdb, RMS and on the rare occasion .FOC's. Mostly for it's ease of use. Once the .MAS and/or .ACX's are set up it's quite easy to teach TABLETALK....... If you'd like more detailed info please call...... Gary.

MRE.. an interface product that integrates ALL-IN-1 with FOCUS and DTR..(and 2020, and VTX, and DECGRAPH) (does a lot more than that, too) FOCUS usage is being deemphasised, the emphasis being put on DTR Currntly, we have around 1500 users (ish) using FOCUS under MRE.. with around 300 using DTR. Hopefully, this will change to follow the instructions from on high. David
424.4 | ABO use of FOCUS | ELMAGO::DFRIEDMAN | Thu Aug 22 1991 16:28 | 15
I recently transferred to the ABO manufacturing plant from PNO (which closed). My position here is that of Team Leader for the End User Computing Group in I.S. - FOCUS. ABO uses FOCUS heavily to do every- thing from basic analysis and reporting to FOCUS applications such as: cycle counting, PI interface to MAXCIM, IFS tracking, ect. ABO currently has no plans to migrate to another 4GL tool, although we are looking to augment FOCUS with something like SAS. FOCUS is the easiest end user tool to use and ABO's users number about 200. I hope this helps, Debbie Friedman dtn 552-2902 |
