Whenever I invoke the SCAN utility FOCUS throws me back to the system
prompt. Any ideas?

I've been informed by one of our FOCUS support people that Digital's
FOCUS license doesn't inlude SCAN. The intent, apparently, was to
provide a "read only" capability for certain databases. The party line
is that DIY databases should be constructed using standard Digital
offerings such as RDB and DTR.
