302.0. "PAPER PATCH 1 -- 5.2.2" by EN::COYLE () Thu Jan 11 1990 14:21

Following is a PATCH from IBI for FOCUS 5.2.2 8/29/89

FOCUS Release 5.2.2

                       Paper Patch Number 1

Required by all Release 5.2.2 sites with module dated 8/29/89

SEN 3690
SEN 3779

This required patch corrects two SENs, 3690 and 3779. One
of the following messages occur when using DEFINEs in
the Master in a TABLE request:

     . (FOC002) a word is not recognized.

. (FOC003) the field name is not in the dictionary.

. (FOC243) computational statements recognized but not
        yet supported.

Specifically, these messages occur when DEFINES in the
Master are used in conjunction with several other FOCUS
features, including cross references, JOINS, on-line DEFINES,
     or DBA.

This required patch is for sites using FOCUS release 5.2.2
     module dated 8/29/89.

 Applying the PATCH:

1. Place the following instructions into a command file
using TED or any editor. Make sure IBI$FOCUS points to
the directory where FOCUS Release 5.2.2 is installed.

     $PATCH IBI$FOCUS:FOCUS.EXE
     SET ECO 101
     DEFINE BASE=2245AC
     D/B BASE=24
     D/B BASE+2C=0FC
     D/B BASE+43=0E5
     UPDATE
     EXIT
     $EXIT

2. Execute the command file from VMScommand level. A
new FOCUS.EXE will be created in your current
     directory. Replace your IBI$FOCUS:FOCUS.EXE module
     with this new module.

3. Please note that if FOCUS is installed as a shared image,
any time you make changes to a FOCUS module (i.e.,
FOCUS, SUSERV, or FUSELIB), you must remember to
replace the old executable module with the changed
     executable module.
