We are using FOCUS within MRE against an RdB. For the past 2 weeks an error - disk quota exceeded - has been happening to some reorts. What I'v tried is as follows: 1. Increase my own disk quota to 90,000 blks. 2. In the login.com put in DEFINE SYS$SCRATCH SCRATCH$AREA where scratch$area is a large scratch area. I thought this would redirect temporary files to this area and thus overcome the problem. 3. At the top of the FEX SET TEMP$DIR SCRATCH$AREA to direct FOCUS temporary files to this scratch disk. Does anyone know what could be happening and how to overcome this. Any info on logicals/system setting which affect directing temporary files would be appreciated. Regards, Dave

Through trial & error an RdB logical solves the problem. RDMS$BIND_WORK_FILE can specify an area into which RdB Sort files are written. If its not set up on the system, this area defaults to sys$login |
