I have problems "encrypting" my Master File with the DBA password. If I try this with the syntax from the User Manual (13-23) I always get the error message: (FOC 047) USER DOES NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT ACCESS RIGHTS TO FILE: But: The "table file" command works ok with this DBA password and another file with the same DBA password I can encrypt. What's the reason for this error message?? Thanks in advance Annette

Hi Annette, Do you have any other copies of this master file that FOCUS may be trying to read? FOCUS reads the first copy of the master file it sees. You might be trying to work with a master file in FOC$DIR4, but FOCUS is reading the copy in FOC$DIR2. If the two copies do not both have the same DBA name, you have to know the DBA name of the MASTER file you really are working with. Just a hunch, this has happened to me! Cheers, Larry Sisle | |||||

Thanks, but unfortunately I have only one defined directory and one Masterfile! |
