We are currently testing FOCUS against an RDB database where we have all of our dates stored as VMS dates. When FOCUS reads a date that has no date loaded into it, it displays Nov. 17, 1958. We need to be able to check for date "eq ' '". This does not work for us, because it considers the Nov. date to have a value. The FOCUS masters have Usage=YMD and Actual=Date. Does anyone else have this as a problem? Nancy

Hello Nancy. > When FOCUS reads a date that > has no date loaded into it, it displays Nov. 17, 1958. If you put nothing in an RDB date field, RDB itself will consider the date as being Nov. 17, 1958. That's the zero-date for RDB/VMS. It's not a FOCUS problem. I guess you'll have to check in FOCUS if the date has precisely this value, instead of checking for blank. JD. |
