Is there anyway around this problem? Will it vanish with some future FOCUS release? The following is extracted from an A1 mail message: Here are my suggestions for new filenames.........others can be used, but try to limit the filename to a max of 8 characters. As I said, the long names create problems with the IBI FOCUS software in the AIC. We have to change these names to a shorter name before we can use them. Do a SET FILE/ENTER=8_char_name old_file_name Then you can have both names and use the 8 char name in FOCUS and use the larger names in other layered products. IBI said that this will be fixed in 5.7 (the next release) of FOCUS. Steve |
