I am presently writing a small procedure to read in any focus standard
database and then to pass in on to OPS5. However I can imagine someone
has written something like this to pass the database to BASIC.
In this way all you have to do is redefine the datastructures in
OPS to read in a new database.
Anyone done this?

Have you check all the FOCUS -> Language interfaces that come with
the FOCUS installment package ? Just do a "SET DEF FOC$LIB1" and
do a dir, there are a lot of packages, just pick a language, "C",
Pascal, or FORTRAN, include, and away you go.
Those files are developed for the purpose of interfacing a programming
language to a FOCUS database.

Yes, but, most sites aren't licensed for HLI. Urge the contract
negotiators (via PHAZER::BARNES) to purchase the license.
