I am looking for any information on using FOCUS DBA passwords.
I have a .MAS file that has a DBA password assigned to it. According
to the manual for FOCUS 5.2 page 13-5, you should be able to change
the DBA password using the RESTRICT command. This is what I have
been getting.
> SET PASS = OLD_PASSWORD
> RESTRICT
> FILENAME
(FOC036) NO DATA FOUND FOR FOCUS FILE NAMED: FILENAME
The file that I am looking for resides in the same dir that I am
executing FOCUS from. Has anybody played with this? I am running
on FOCUS 5.2
Thanks

I am working with FOCUS 5.0 under VAX/VMS and I got the same
Error-Message as you.
I tried another construct:
>SET PASS=old
>RESTRICT
>filename.FOC
FILE RESTRICTED
>SET PASS=new
Perhaps you'll get a new Error-Message:
(FOC036) NO DATA FOUND FOR FOCUS FILE NAMED: SET
Ignore this message and enter the last line again.
With this combination I had no problems.
