126.0. "Exceeded Quotas on RDB/FOCUS/ALL-IN-1" by RDGE44::ANDERSON () Mon Sep 12 1988 06:48

    This is a query about process quotas to run a combination of softwares.

    We have developed a system using RDB/FMS/PASCAL, FOCUS running under
    the ALL-IN-1 umberalla for the users. The RDB databases we are running
    against in the different districts are varying in size from 30,000
    to 75,000 blocks. When we run an extensive FOCUS program against
    the RDB database of 46,000 blocks, the report halt prematurely due
    to EXCEEDED QUOTA.

    The quotas we have at present are:
    	Buffered I/O Byte Count Quota 40,000
    	Paging File Quota			30,000
    	Enqueue Quota				   700
    	Direct I/O Limit			   100
    	Buffered I/O Limit			   100
        Open File Quota				    50
        AST Limit				    75

    The problem seems to be the Buffered I/O Byte Count and Pagin File
    Quotas, but we don't have a clear idea of how high they should be.
    Any help would be appreciatd and the problem is rather urgent.

    P.S. I am placing this note in the ALL-IN-1, FOCUS, and RDB
    conferences.

126.1looks ok but try thisFDCV01::MADDENFri Oct 07 1988 10:564
    All the quotas/limits you've shown look OK. You didn't show a
    subprocess quota. Try doubling it to at least 4. Depending on
    your code FOCUS could be using 1 or 2, AA-IN-1 1 or 2 etc.
    It's worth a try!!
