Is this possible to do: ?? Is it possible to access a common memory storage area from within FOCUS ? i.e. pull in a string from a common area or a mailbox and place it into an & variable ? I am trying to pass parameters between executables/1032/Focus etc. I have been able to do this by passing files back and forth, but this is very slow. Any ideas etc ? Thank You.

FOCUS allows you to develop your own (3GL) subroutines and place them the FUSELIB run time library. You can declare a temporary field in FOCUS which invokes the subroutine, with the appropriate parameters. Since you are writing with a 3GL, all of the VAX/VMS system services etc.. are available to you. ( e.g to read/write a mailbox) _Brij. | |||||

I'm trying to develop much the same thing. Perhaps we could communicate a bit? I'm at MEMCL1::COPPERSMITH 232-2246. Then we could enter pertinent results of the dialogue here. Curtis Coppersmith |
