We are running a Finance application using the SU and we're finding
it's VERY slow. I checked the installation guide and the UAF parameters
are fine. It mentions needing two DECnet connections for each SU
user and this may be where we're bogging down. We also get an error
that says the SU cannot connect to the central database. I have
a call into the IBI hotline, but I was wondering if anyone else
was having this kind of trouble.

I'm brand new to Focus and learning quickly.
What is a "SU" user? Is this a distributed facet of FOCUS?

In a way, yes. SU stands for Simultaneous User. It is also called
the Synch Machine. When a database is put under control of the SU,
the SU allows >1 user to write to a database at the same time.
"At the same time" isn't really true, but it allows WRITE access
to more than one user.
