14.1 | Response on Training | VOLGA::CUDAK | | Thu Oct 22 1987 09:06 | 14 |
| Unless the training agreement has changed in the past 3 months,
the free training per license is 2 days onsite for 15 people or
20 hours for 2 people (10 hours each) at Information Builders.
I recommend onsite training as IBI utilizes IBM systems to train
people at their facility. Pooling licenses for training purposes
is allowed. We were able to train 15 people for 6 full days by
pooling 3 licenses.
I'm not certain if the same agreement applies in Europe, however
a telephone call to Susan Crispen at IBI will answer any questions
you have.

14.2 | Licence Agreement fuzzy in Europe | AYOV18::DCHALMERS | Del Boy | Thu Oct 22 1987 10:33 | 15 |
| Thanks,
On further investigation here, I've been told that when the
licence was agreed at Corporate level a block of 'free training'
was allocated, this I'm told has all been used up by U.S sites,
no free training allocation ever reached Europe.
If what you are saying is correct, I should acquire a licence and
be entitled to the training, how do I acquire a licence? Do you
know who I could contact in the U.S.
Also IBI in the UK are denying any knowledge of this licence agreement,
does Susan Crispen work for IBI US, or IBI UK? If US do you have
a telephone number for her.
Thanks in advance....Dale Chalmers

14.3 | License in U.S. info | VOLGA::CUDAK | | Fri Oct 23 1987 13:31 | 9 |
| Susan Crispen's telephone number here in Massachusetts is
(617) 272-8600. We have only delt with IBI in the U.S.A. I
suggest you contact Jon McDonnough, in Software Acquisition,
Maynard, for additional information. His DTN is 223-2351, he
may not have the informtion you need, but can probably steer
you in the right direction.

| Last I heard, DEC had some 75 licenses worldwide and a large number
of training credits have been accumulating --- but that these credits
have now shifted to Ed Services in Burlington, MA. Ed Services
is offering classes in FOCUS - but on an occassional basis. Talk
to Al Topoloski in Bedford.
If IBI trains you, make sure that they teach you on DEC equipment
instead of IBM PCs - IBI is notoriously myopic.
