ANNOUNCING THE HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING SEMINAR SERIES
**********************************************************
If you have a customer in the MCAD (Mechanical Computer-Aided Design)
Engineering Analysis market, Digital is sponsoring a series of seminars
in 11 cities across the U.S. and Canada targeted at this type of user.
Digital, along with its major resellers - including Pioneer, Total Tec,
Arrow/MTI, Avnet and Wyle, will team-up with five of the leading application
software providers in the MCAD market for these seminars.
Each seminar will demonstrate how Digital's AlphaServer 8200/8400 systems,
running compute-intensive applications, can deliver supercomputing
performance at significantly lower cost of ownership - when compared to the
same applications currently running on dramatically more expensive mainframes
and supercomputers from Convex, Cray, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Silicon
Graphics.
Discussing industry trends in high performance computing will be Randy Premont,
Director of Resource 2000, Inc. A 25-year veteran of the supercomputer
industry, Premont develops new software techniques for multiprocessing
environments, focusing on the aerospace, automotive, petroleum, electronics
and biomedical industries.
Following the presentatiions, live demonstrations of an AlphaServer 8000 series
system, along with Digital's latest workstations, will run parallel computing
applications by some of the industry's leading applications providers
including: Hibbit, Karlsson & Sorensen, Inc., Ansys, Inc., Fluent, Inc.,
Fluid Dynamics, Inc. and McNeal-Schwendler Corporation.
Who benefits from these seminars? MCAD professionals with titles such as
lab directors, engineering managers, design engineers, technical
staffers, project managers, software engineers, and staff scientists who
primarily are working in the aerospace, automotive and defense-related
industries
