Would someone please be so kind as to explain to me what a PRE K
inspection is. I just got a call from a customer here at 800-DIGITAL
who DEMANDED that she be able to talk to to someone about setting up
for her customer. She claimed that it allows for someone to go out and
explain to the customer how their new equipment works, etc. I have never
heard of such a thing and neither has anyone here at DECdirect, when I
told her to call the local sales office she became even more irate but
I still wasnt able to help her - so she hung up on me and now Im
really curiouys as to what this actually is and how its arranged.
thanks in advance for any assistance,
Barry

Barry,
A "pre-K" is also called a pre-contract inspection. Before Digital
can put a piece of equipment under a service contract we need to
inpect it to make sure it is maintainable (up to rev. etc). The
"pre-K" can be logged by either the customer or a Digital rep.
I am a base sales rep and log these for new customers quite often.
The call goes through the regular 1-800-354-9000#. However, with
decreasing manpower in the service delivery field, "pre-K"'s are
not necessarily a prerequisite for a service contract.
I hope this helps out a bit.
Susan
